A beautiful and powerful statement piece. This is the Uppsala Temple Armband, dedicated to the temple that was the spiritual center of the old Norse religion, located in Uppsala in what is now Sweden. The gods Thor, Odin and Freyr were worshiped in this temple and the Bracelet features the Elder Futhark runes - Thurisaz, Ansuz and Fehu - and other symbols associated with them. A lighter and smaller version than our standard Uppsala Bracelet, made from (1.5mm thick) gauge copper or brass 20mm wide and to fit wrist 15-18cm upwards, although we can make one to fit any wrist. The copper has been deeply etched and antiqued and then lacquered and waxed to protect the finish. Each is handmade and totally unique, no two are the same. The photograph is an example only. Your Armband will be supplied in a gift bag and comes with a certificate explaining the symbolism. Please note copper/brass/bronze is a natural material with proven antimicrobial properties and although we make no claims, some say there are anti-inflammatory effects useful for joint pain. Although the item is lacquered to protect the patina this will not last forever and the copper will develop its own natural patina over time. Depending on your body chemistry and atmospheric conditions it may leave a harmless greenish deposit on the skin. This is easily washed off and can be minimized by lacquering or waxing it yourself if necessary.
