This is a complete 25-piece Elder Futhark rune set carved from polished black obsidian — the 24 standard runes plus a blank stone known as the Wyrd or Odin's rune, which stands for fate not yet decided.

Obsidian's been used in divination and protective work for a long time, partly because of its glassy, reflective surface and partly because volcanic glass just feels like it belongs in this kind of practice.
